The Sehwag Triple - A melange of moments - Part V
April 1st 2008 13:55
Folks,
It has been a privilege and a rare honour to witness this innings from Sehwag. Not a long while back, he was not given his due. He is showing what he is made of, to the world. His mettle. His class. His balance. And his power.
He was on 193 and he swatted Makhaya Ntini's ball on middle and leg up over the long leg stand. And the next ball was swivelled off his hips into the vacant midwicket region. That would also have been a boundary but for the doughty effort by the indefatigable Ashwell Prince. Boundary or not that was another double century for Virender Sehwag.
----------------------------- ----------------------------- -------------------------
As I said, it has been a privilege and an honour to witness this innings and learn from it.
This is Sehwag's 10th consecutive score where he has gone on to get his 150 after completing his century.
Awe inspiring record that.
----------------------------- ----------------------------- --------------------------
The last over before Tea and Nitini steams in...and...Sehwag launches a perfectly legitimate length ball - slightly wide of the stumps, yes - over the extra cover boundary for a six!
That was thudding. I would hate to be a South African now.
The next ball is delicately late cut towards the backward point boundary.
