Spoken for
February 6th 2008 12:55
We are sharp
or silken smooth
or anything between.
We are exotic
or commonplace
even average
while we hurry on
in our sojourn
from one orifice
to another.
We pleasantly cut
or morosely soothe
It only verges
on how we are strung
together.
We are pliant
enough to stop wars
Yet fiery enough
to stoke them back
Many a time
we are better off
not existing
Other times
we are nothings
Often we are not
what we seem to be
We are a family
of cousins and uncles
of unlikely riff raff
picked up over time
Form of us
what you will
Place us
where you will
Give us
to who you will
We will always be
Yours.
We are part of
many lands
and we travel
in many coloured
coaches; each having
its own music
But we always carry
not just ourselves
but also a part of
You.
We never live
except for what is given
and even then only
to whom we go
Yet we best the test
Of time
And we reach high
We conquer
our creators
over time.
'cause once you give us
You may not
ever
take us back.
