Chennai makes me proud!

A word about the Chennai crowd. It has been voluminous, cheerful, spirited, respectful and knowledgeable - as always. This crowd probably puts most international crowds to shame in these factors.
Unlike many other crowds, there is not that deathly quiet when the opposition scores runs. There is always appreciation for good cricket. And when yesterday it saw an out of form Dravid confidently defend the ball, it cheered him. Mind you, it did not boo like some other crowds in major Indian Test centres. It cheered him. Now that is a crowd one would love to be a part of and one would love to play cricket in front of.
One of the most infuriating things to happen in recent times was the virtual absence of people in Mohali when India scripted that epochal win against Australia in the recent Test series.
And more than anything else, it also affirms that Chennai still is firm Test match territory. It knows its cricket and knows the highest form of the game when it sees it.

Chennai - you make me proud! Not just me but cricket as a whole and India too. The joie de vivre that was showcased over the 5 days was simply phenomenal. This is what a good crowd can do to Test matches.
